Day 74 – Kuala Lumpur

We went to Kuala Lumpur; that’s about enough said about that!!

Our plans for Malaysia were to spend a few days in KL before heading up to George Town (Penang) for the New Year. However, when we got to KL and our accommodation was awful and KL felt really sketchy. We’ve done a lot of travel, and a lot before we came on this trip, but this just didn’t feel good. We had similar experiences in Beijing, Day 7 – OMG Beijing Arrival, but this one just made us feel like getting the hell out of there.

So we did!!

After 24 hours we got on a plane and headed back to Thailand which has been our go to through this trip. By the end of the trip we will have been to four different spots in Thailand; and one in Malaysia.

Landed in Hanoi after a pleasant 2hr flight with Vietnam Airlines from Bangkok, they even managed a meal service in that time. On landing we made our way to the agreed meeting point to find our free (thank you Booking.com genius reward 😀) ride to Hanoi Old Quarter. Some crazy traffic meant this relatively short...

Is there nothing more quintessential than eating Peking Duck in Beijing, or more precisely (but outdated) eating Peking Duck in Peking? (If you’re wondering, Peking was the capital of China until the capital was renamed in 1954, with mainstream Western media fully adopting the new name in the 1990’s.) This dish is synonymous with the...

For most of us, when travelling overseas, travel insurance is close to the top of the list of items we need to buy while preparing for our trip and is best purchased just after we’ve started spending money on bookings, whether they be for accommodation, flights or other methods of transport. Generally, we look for...
